Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 24, 2026
1. Introduction
At Business Edge Analytics LLC ("we," "us," our," or "the Company"), operating ChurnShield, your privacy and the security of your business data are of paramount importance. This Privacy Policy details how we handle data when you use the ChurnShield stand-alone application.
Because ChurnShield operates as a local application on your machine, our approach to data privacy is "privacy by design": we limit what we collect and prioritize keeping customer data in your control.
2. Information We Do Not Collect (Local Processing)
It is vital to understand what data we do not store on our servers:
- Customer Data: Any CSVs or data files containing your customers' names, emails, transaction dates, or purchase amounts are processed entirely locally on your computer.
- Analysis Results: Risk scores, predicted churn probabilities, and recommended discount margins remain strictly on your local device.
Business Edge Analytics LLC operates no cloud servers that host, receive, transmit, or process your customer datasets. We have zero visibility into your customers' identities or transaction histories.
3. Information We Do Collect
When you use ChurnShield, we collect only the necessary information to permit your use of the software and manage your subscription:
3.1 Account Information
When you sign up or purchase a subscription, we collect basic identifier information, including:
- Your name and business email address
- Authentication credentials (securely managed via Supabase Auth)
- Subscription tier and billing history
3.2 Application Telemetry and Updates
To ensure ChurnShield remains secure and functioning correctly, the application checks our servers for:
- Version Checks: To notify you of updates or required patches.
- License Validation: To verify your account is active and authorized to use the software.
4. Use of Google User Data (Google Workspace/Gmail APIs)
ChurnShield offers integration with Google via OAuth, allowing users to connect their organizational Gmail accounts to send retention campaigns directly from the local application. Because of the sensitive nature of email data, we strictly abide by the following practices concerning Google Data:
4.1 Access and Use
If you choose to authenticate your Google Account with ChurnShield, the application requests access to send emails on your behalf (`https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send`).
This access is used exclusively to dispatch targeted retention campaigns to the customers identified in your locally stored database. The application does not read, delete, or organize your inbox. It only transmits outbound messages constructed by you within the app.
4.2 Storage
Authentication tokens (OAuth access and refresh tokens) received from Google are stored locally on your machine within ChurnShield's encrypted local database. Business Edge Analytics LLC does not transmit these tokens to our servers or store them in any cloud infrastructure.
4.3 Sharing and Transfer
Business Edge Analytics LLC does not share, sell, or transfer any Google user data or authentication tokens to third-party ad networks, data brokers, or any other external entities.
4.4 Google API Services User Data Policy (Limited Use Disclosure)
ChurnShield's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Because the core functional data (your customer lists and analysis) is saved locally on your device, you have complete control over its retention.
- Local Data: To delete your customer data, you need only uninstall the ChurnShield application or clear its local storage directories from your computer.
- Account Data: To request the deletion of your account and subscription information from our licensing systems, please contact support.
- Google Integration: You may revoke ChurnShield's access to your Google Account at any time by visiting your Google Account Security settings (myaccount.google.com/permissions).
6. Security
We employ industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS/TLS encryption for all licensing and authentication communications. However, because ChurnShield operates locally, you are solely responsible for securing the physical device and operating system where ChurnShield is installed to prevent unauthorized access to your locally-stored customer data.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will post the revised policy on this page with an updated revision date. If we make material changes to how we handle sensitive integrations like Google OAuth, we will notify you through the ChurnShield application.
